2017 CWW Lunch February 2nd : Paws 4 Kids
Paws 4 Kids
We all know Jackson & Kiwi, our special four-legged friends that attend CWW luncheons. Now we have an opportunity to learn a little more about their roles at the Will County States Attorney office.
Paws 4 Kids was launched by States Attorney Jim Glasgow through the Will County Children's Advocacy Center with the help of Cheri Johnson. Her personal dog, Jackson, is licensed through Therapy Dog International and was the first canine to begin comforting children who visit the Center for victim-sensitive interviews. Kiwi also works in the Children's Advocacy Center and will be comforting children when they testify in court.
The newest four-legged member to join the State's Attorney's team is Cache. He is the latest weapon in the fights against child pornography: a lanky, rambunctious Black Lab that has been specially trained to detect hidden electronic devices.
